As the highest-end Toyota vehicle, this truck comes fully loaded with KDSS, Multi-Terrain Select, A-Trac, Crawl Control, Downhill Assist, and VSC (with an override switch). The same hearty 5.7L V8 is the only engine option in North America, but new for 2016 is Toyota’s first 8-Speed automatic transmission.
A potentially really cool feature for the new model is Off-Road Turn assist. This system applies brakes to the inside rear wheel during tight off-road turns, which allow the vehicle to pivot and turn tighter.
The new Multi-Terrain Monitor system provides real-time cameras on all four sides of the truck, enabling a nearly 360 degree view of the terrain around you. I’m not sure what the 5 second front undercarriage projected path vide playback means, but it sounds cool!
