It was rumored last week, and today Toyota Motor Sales (TMS) Made it official: The new home for Toyota USA Corporte HQ will be Plano, TX.
Toyota Motor Sales USA announced today via Press release that by the end of 2017, over 4,000 employees from around the United States will be affected by the move.
Citing better efficiency, quicker decision making, and increased innovation, Toyota North America CEO Jim Lentz says he's excited for the move, which will be the first time in it's history Toyota HQ will not operate out of Southern California.
The new environmentally friendly mega-campus in Plano is expected to open in late 2016 or early 2017, once ground is broken on the facility. Construction is expected to start later this year.
Toyota Racing Development (TRD) is one notable exception from this move; according to the press release TRD operations are not impacted by the relocation at this time.

Redline Land Cruisers from Colorado Springs has announced that they will begin production on custom 4-Door FJ-40 Land Cruiser bodies built on an 80 Series Land Cruiser chassis.
The all-new way of getting your entire family into a classic Land Cruiser will be a first for normal people. While the 4-Door model has been available from custom builder Icon in the past, Redline will be the first to offer this model for under $50k. Priced at $49,900 for their base model (which includes a donor 80 Series), the FJ-UTE offers passenger seating in the first, 2nd and optional 3rd row.
