Back in the days before children, I even once replaced an engine in an old Jeep Cherokee. I like to think that I know my way around a garage, lift, and tools. I still do most of the basic maintenance on our trucks, and I keep asking for a two-post lift for my birthday.
However, the reality of modern life is that time is precious. Could I do the suspension upgrade at home? Yes. Should I? Probably not.
Centrally located in the Denver Metro Area (See map), Toytec 4x4 is co-located with our longest running partner, Toytec Lifts. In fact, the shop is literally under the same roof as the warehouse, which makes installs at Toytec 4x4 very convenient. If you’re planning a trip to Colorado and need parts, accessories, and alignment, or just about anything – Toytec & Toytec 4x4 are literally right on the way through town.
Not only is it convenient to have your modifications installed at Toytec 4x4, the craftsmanship done by these professionals is second to none. The shop is booked pretty much all day, every day, and appointments are scheduled usually a couple of weeks out. What that means is that these guys (and gals), are GOOD. They are actually, excellent.
They’ve modified so many cruisers & trucks over the last couple of years, that they are truly experts at modifying Toyota & Lexus vehicles. They use only the best tools, know all the great ways to efficiently get things done, and are able to dial in suspensions, armor, accessories, and overland modifications in no time.
Our install day started bright and early at about 9am on a cold January day. Devin was assigned as our tech to install the Toytec Boss Aluma 2.0 front & rear on the AlpineExpress Tundra. On install day all the parts were available except the rear shocks, which were coming on a pallet the following week. Devin made quick work of our upgrade, minus the shocks which I can do in the garage.
Since Toytec4x4 has a full digital alignment system, Devin was able to install the front coilovers in the Tundra quickly, and almost effortlessly. His tool cart is one of the most well organized I’ve ever seen, and his skill was apparent at every step of the install.
Overall it took a little over 4 hours for the entire project, which included adjusting the front suspension down a couple of times, a full alignment, and a test drive to make sure everything was in perfect working order. You can see each step of the install at the video linked below.
Toytec 4x4 is the perfect companion to Toytec Lifts and are 100% on my list for major installs going forward.
You can find them at 6765 Franklin St, Denver, CO, but for installs you’ll want to call ahead for availability at 303-255-4959.
